No extradition of the 5 activists university students
In Thursday 12 November, day of national general strike, police officers with a prosecutor invaded into the homes of five students in Agia Paraskevi borough and arrested them, after the demand of the italian state which has issued a european arrest warrant against them. The same day, in Milan, the italian police arrested five Italians who are accussed for the same case. With their participation in the No Expo demo in 1 May 2015 in Milan being the only clear charge against them, the greek judicial authorities, and implicity the greek government, are requested to extradite the five youths to Italy without, at least for now, any existing complete case file being handed to the Athens Court of Appeal, which will resolve the issue of their extradition. The only data that has been “granted” to the greek judicial authorities is the vague charge that they were sighted to participate in actions of rioting, without any further clarification neither by whom they were sighted nor any details of what they were sighted doing. It is left to the descretion and political will of the Athens Court of Appeal to judge if the data is enough for someone to be charged or not.
No Expo – another way to say “That’s enough!”
What was the demo, in which the five students participated, about?
In 2015, the Universal Exhibition Expo took place in Milan. The Expo are worldwide exhibitions which are organised periodically, each time in different cities throughout the world, to exalt and advertise industrial and capitalist products, and arrange all sorts of trade agreements. In other words, it’s one of the many well-known capitalist feasts (like Olympics, World Cup, Biennale etc), during which champagne -served by servile and unpaid volunteers- is glugged among fur coats and jewellery, and the new exploitative conditions of the underclass are signed with the golden pens of the international capitalist elite. Obviously, for this feast to take place, there was no lack of dirty money to mafiosi and contractors, financial scandals and black holes in the budget, alongside the appalling working conditions -oftenly unpaid- before and during Expo, population displacements from their slums, emergency security measures etc. “We have to welcome so many people!” thinked the state, “We cannot let the misery and exploitation of every day life to ruin our feast”.
We shouldn’t forget that this costly feast, during which several millions of euros were spent, took place in the nearby Italy, at the same time when the government was voting austerity measures and asking the poor to further tighten their belts! And it’s no coincidence that all these remind us a little bit of Greece (Olympics, crisis, Memoranda). It is called global capitalism…
Against this feast of devaluation of our lives, some thousands of people from around Italy, and other countries as well, decided responding to the pan-european call of Milanese activists, uniting their voices to a collective “that’s enough!” cry, no more exploitation! So, a protest called No Expo was organised the opening day of Expo, and it was supported by all political movements and trade unions in the context of the march of May Day strike. As always in such cases, different logics and actions coexisted and shaped a multiform movement of social resistance.
Why 5 residents of Agia Paraskevi, Athens where there?
The 5 accused students participate in the greek student movemen, their neighbourhoods’ public assemblies and in some of the many working class struggles which bursted in the recent years. In other words, they are some of the many of thousands people who got out in the streets to fight for their dignity and social solidarity. They are a drop in the ocean of millions of people who resist to, either organised or spasmodically, the exploitation and devaluation of their lives and the everyday violence of those in power, who even get to the point of commiting brutal murders (either work accidents or cold-blooded executions by the cops), in Greece, Argentina, Tunisia, Egypt, Bosnia, Turkey, Mexico, Brazil and elsewhere.
Being in Italy, it was only natural that the 5 politically active students would participate in the protest which opposed the plans of those in power. The day after the demo, in the context of a generalised massive adductions by the police, they were adducted while being in a café, on the sole criterion of their departure from an occupied social center earlier. Subsequently, they were violently forced in fingerprinting and taking of genetic material (DNA), without the presence of an interpreter. After a detention of several hours, and without further explanations, they were released.
As the underclasses awaken, the upperclasses shiver
Against the generalised resistance of the underclasses, the state apparatus doesn’t, obviously, remain apathetic, but it gets shielded on all levels. On the one hand, it attacks even more the labour rights and anything that can ensure a decent life, in order to intensify the exploitation and fear, and therefore to limit the scope of reaction we have. In other words, they compel us to live our lives with bowed heads, begging for crumbs from their tables and thanking them, in order not to have any time, power and energy to organise our resistance.
On the other hand, they also organise on the level of police violence and repression, with the national police forces becoming increasingly like the military ones, both in their tactics and their weaponry. It’s the same thread that connects the murder of Grigoropoulos and the atrocities of riot police and other police forces in general strikes and elsewhere, with the murders in brazilian favelas, the US ghettos and the french suburbs, the murder of Giuliani in Genova 2001, and of course the murders of immigrants in Mediterranean Sea and elsewhere, which they call “shipwrecks”. It’s the same warning neon sign which blinks above the heads of all the damned of the earth, which writes “Stay quiet, because none of your lives matter to us!”
Last, the system is also organising its repression on judicial level. Besides, the european arrest warrant under which Italy requests the extradition of the 5 activists students, has been ratified by the greek law with the second anti-terrorism legislation in 2004. Its context violates even the most basic human rights, eg in Italy there is no maximum duration of remand until trial. In other words, if the five students are extraditated, they may stay five years in italian prisons, away from their families, and when the trial will finally occur they will be acquited – which is the most likely possibility, according to the nonexisting data about the charges against them. Also, their extradition to Italy would mean their total isolation, economic annihilation and inability of defending themselves (due to different language and law). The european intergration of repression builds a generalised Guantanamo, seeking to see imprisoned all of us who participate the recent years in strikes and other dynamic mobilisations in central Athens.
It is clear that the mere accusation which burdens the five students is the fact that they united their voices with thousands of others in Milan and elsewhere. It is the fact that they decided to resist the fate reserved for us by the mighty of this world! And it is also clear that our solidarity to all people fighting is not negotiable.

No all’estradizione dei 5 studenti attivisti!
Giovedi 12 novembre, giorno di sciopero generale, la polizia, accompagnata da un magistrato, ha fatto irruzione nelle case di cinque studenti di Aghia Paraskevi, arrestandoli come da richiesta dello stato italiano e dopo il mandato europeo di cattura emesso contro di loro. Lo stesso giorno, a Milano, la polizia italiana arresta cinque italiani accusati per lo stesso delitto. L’accusa, in sostanza, riguarda solo la loro partecipazione alla manifestazione No Expo di Milano, il 1° maggio 2015. Dalle autorità giudiziarie elleniche e in via indiretta dal governo greco viene richiesta l’estradizione dei cinque giovani per un processo in Italia, senza che sia ancora stato rinviato l’intero fascicolo d’inchiesta al consiglio della Corte d’Assise, che dovrà decidere se accogliere o meno la richiesta di estradizione. L’unico elemento accusatorio “rilasciato” è la vaga affermazione che sono stati visti partecipare a degli scontri, senza specificare né il chi lì ha visti né cosa sono stati visti fare. Questi “dettagli” sono lasciati alla discrezione e alla volontà politica dei magistrati della Corte d’Assise, per decidere se bastano a consolidare l’accusa o meno.
No Expo – Come dire ya basta!
Che cos’era allora questa manifestazione cui partecipavano i cinque studenti? Nell’anno 2015 è toccato a Milano ospitare la fiera modiale Expo. Queste fiere sono esposizioni internazionali organizzate a tempi fissi e in città ogni volta diverse, per mostrare i prodotti e le meraviglie del capitalismo e fare business di ogni sorta. In poche parole è un altra delle ben note feste (chiamate Olimpiadi, Coppa del Mondo, Biennale ecc.) durante le quali lo champagne scorre in abbondanza, servita da servili e non pagati volontari, barzellette si raccontano tra peliccie e gioielli e le nuove condizioni di sfruttamento dei sudditi sono firmate con penne d’oro dalle elite mondiali capitalistiche. Per codesta festa è ovvio che non son mancate le mazzette e tangenti tra politici, mafiosi e grandi appaltatori, gli scandali e i bucchi neri ai bilanci, in parallelo con le infami condizioni del lavoro – spesso non pagato – prima e durante l’esposizione, la dislocazione di popolazioni impoverite fuori dalle borgate, le misure speciali di sicurezza ecc. Ma… verrà così tanta gente! Non possiamo permettere la miseria e lo sfruttamento del quotidiano che ci guasti le festività!
Non dimentichiamo che tutto questo spendere e spandere, con i milioni che volano a destra e manca, avviene proprio quanto il governo italiano approva misure di austerità e chiede ai poveri di tirare ancora di più la cinghia! Se tutto questo sa un pò di greco (Olimpiadi, crisi, memorandum) non è a caso: si chiama capitalismo mondiale… Contro tutta questa festa di svalutazione delle nostre vite, migliaia di persone da tutta Italia e da altri paesi avevano deciso di unire le loro voci e i loro sforzi in un collettivo “ya basta!”, basta con lo sfruttamento! Fu quindi indetta una manifestazione il giorno di inaugurazione dell’Expo, chamata “No Expo” e appoggiata dalla totalità dei movimenti e da una parte delle forze del lavoro, in concomitanza con la manifestazione del 1° maggio. Succede sempre, durante queste manifestazioni, che coesistano diverse logiche e pratiche componenti un multiforme movimento di resistenza sociale.
Ma che stavano a fare lì i 5 di Aghia Paraskevi?
Ι cinque studenti accusati partecipano al movimento studentesco greco, sono attivi nelle assemblee del loro quartiere e hanno preso parte nelle numerose lotte sociali/operaie/di classe scoppiate nel paese negli ultimi anni. In altre parole, sono tra quelle migliaia di persone scese per le strade negli ultimi anni, in lotta per la dignità e la solidarietà sociale. Sono una goccia nell’oceano dei milioni di persone, organizzate o spontanee, che resistono allo sfruttamento e allo svalutarsi delle loro vite; alla violenza quotidiana del potere che arriva fino all’assassinio (i morti sul lavoro oppure le esecuzioni a freddo degli sbirri), in Grecia, Argentina, Tunisia, Egitto, Bosnia, Turchia, Messico, Brasile e altrove. Durante un soggiorno in Italia, per i cinque studenti, politicamente attivi, era naturale partecipare alla manifestazione contro i piani dei padroni. Il giorno dopo, durante un rastrellamento di massa, sono stati fermati davanti a un bar con la semplice scusa che uscivano da uno spazio sociale occupato. In seguito sono stati obbligati a dare le impronte diglitali e materiale genetico (DNA), senza la presenza di interpeti.
Quando quelli di sotto si svegliano, quelli di sopra tremano. Com’è ovvio, le resistenze generalizzate dei subalterni non lasciano indifferenti i meccanismi dello stato, anzi, fanno aumentare per loro la posta in gioco. L’attaco contro i diritti del lavoro e alle possibilità di una vita dignitosa si intensificano, cosicché aumenti lo sfruttamento e la paura e si limitino le possibilità di reagire. In poche parole ci vogliono obbligare a tenere la testa bassa, mendicare per le bricciole e dire pure grazie, per non avere né il tempo né la forza né l’energia di organizzare le nostre resistenze. Si preparano pure dal punto di vista della violenza di stato e della repressione, con le polizie nazionali che assomigliano sempre di più, nelle tattiche e negli armamenti, a degli eserciti. È lo stesso filo rosso che unisce l’assassinio di Grigoropoulos all’operato feroce dei MAT-Celerini, ai ΔΕΛΤΑ/ΔΙΑΣ – reparti motorizzati che speronano manifestanti a volontà e altri tipi di sbirri durante gli scioperi generali in Grecia. E altrove, con gli assassini nelle favelas di Brasile, i ghetti americani e i sobborghi francesi, l’assassinio di Carlo Giuliani a Genova nel 2001, senza contare i migranti morti nel Mediterrraneo, nei cosidetti “naufragi”. È sempre lo stesso cartello di avvertimento che lampeggia sopra le teste dei dannati di questa terra, quello che dice «State buoni, le vostre vite per noi non valgono nulla».
Il sistema, infine, prepara la repressione dal punto di vista giudiziario. Il Mandato di Cattura Europeo, del quale si avvale la magistratura italiana per chiedere l’estradizione dei 5 studenti, è entrato in vigore con la seconda legge antiterrorismo (2004). Le leggi antiterroristiche calpestano i diritti umani più elementari, come per esempio la mancanza in Italia di un certo termine di custodia cautelare. Se i 5 studenti vengano estradati, potranno passare 5 anni nelle carceri italiane, lontano dai loro cari, per poi magari essere prosciolti al processo, com’è assai probabile a giudicare dalle prove inesistenti che presentano gli inquirenti. La loro estradizione comportera l’isolamento totale, la rovina economica loro e delle loro famiglie oltre che l’impossibilità di difendersi (altra lingua, altro diritto). L’integrazione europea costruisce una Guantanamo generalizzata, vorrebbe tanto veder chiusi in gabbia tutte/i noi che riempivamo le strade e le piazze di Atene durante tutti questi anni per le lotte sociali, gli scioperi e le manifestazioni! È chiaro che l’unica accusa rivolta ai 5 studenti è quella di aver unito le loro voci con migliaia di altri a Milano e altrove, l’aver deciso di resistere alla sorte che hanno preparato per noi tutti i potenti di questo mondo! È altretanto chiaro che la nostra solidarietà alle persone che lottano non è negoziabile!

APELL ZUR NICHTAUSLIEFERUNG DER 5 DEMONSTRANTEN-STUDENTEN
Am Donnerstag dem 12. November, dem Tag des Generalstreiks, haben Polizisten in Begleitung eines Staatsanwaltes 5 Studenten aus dem Stadtteil Ag. Paraskevi in ihren Wohnungen verhaftet, aufgrund des Antrages des Italienischen Staates, der einen Europäischen Haftbefehl gegen sie verhängt hat. Am gleichen Tag verhaftetete die italienische Polizei in Milan fünf Italiener, die unter der gleichen Anklage stehen. Mit einzigem klaren Anklagepunkt die Teilnahme an der Demonstration No Expo in Milan am 1. Mai 2015, wird vom Griechischen Gerichtshof und direkt von der Regierung gefordert, dass die fünf Jugendlichen ausgeliefert und vor ein Italienisches Gericht gestellt werden sollen. Und das ohne dass sich die Prozessakten in den Händen des Berufungsgerichts befinden, welches auch über die Auslieferung entscheidet. Als einziger Punkt wird eine verallgemeinernde Anklage angeführt, dass die fünf Jugendlichen bei der Teilnahme an Zwischenfällen gesehen wurden, ohne aber dass erläutert wird von wem sie gesehen wurden, auch nicht bei welcher Aktivität genau sie gesehen wurden. Es bleibt der taktvollen Gewandtheit und der politischen Willkür des Berufungsgerichts überlassen ob diese Punkte zur Anklage ausreichen oder nicht.
No EXPO – Mit anderen Worten „Es reicht!“
Was genau aber war die Demonstration an der die 5 Studenten teilgenommen hatten?
Im Jahr 2015 wurde die internationale Ausstellung EXPO in Milan veranstaltet. Die EXPO-Ausstellungen sind internationale Ausstellungen, die in regelmäßigen Zeitabschnitten in jeweils verschiedenen Städten organisiert werden, an denen gewerbliche Produkte ausgestellt und für sie Werbung gemacht wird, ebenso werden verschiedenste Handelsabkommen vereinbart. Mit wenigen Worten handelt es sich um einen weiteren kapitalistischen Jahrmarkt (so wie die Olympiade, die Fußballweltmeisterschaft, die Biennale, usw.), an der während ihrer Dauer der Champagne in Fülle fließt, serviert von freiwilligen Helfern und unbezahlten Helfern, wo die Witzchen zwischen Pelzmänteln und Goldschmuck pendeln, und wo die neuen Abkommen zur Ausnützung der „Unteren Schichten“ mit goldenen Füllhaltern von der internationalen Elite des Kapitalismus unterschrieben werden. Und damit dieser Jahrmarkt durchgeführt werden kann, fehlten offensichtlich auch nicht die Bestechungsgelder für Mafiosi und Großunternehmer, die ökonomischen Skandale und die Schwarzen Löcher im Budget, parallel zu den unwürdigen Arbeitsbedingungen -oft unbezahlt– vor und während der Ausstellung, die Deportation der Bevölkerung aus Armutsvierteln, die Ausnahmesicherheitsbestimmungen, usw. Was soll’s! So viele Menschen werden erwartet! Da lassen wir uns nicht durch Miesere und Alltagsgeschichten das Fest verleiden!
Lasst uns nicht vergessen, dass dieses verschwenderische Fest, an dem links und rechts ein paar Millionen verschwinden, im benachbartem Italien stattfand, genau zum gleichen Zeitpunkt, als die Regierung des Landes Sparmaßnahmen beschloss und der Schicht der armen Bevölkerung weitere Kürzungen zumutete! Sollte das etwa an Griechenland erinnern (Olympiade, Krise, Mnimonium), kein Wunder, es ist der Weltkapitalismus….
Um sich gegen diese Orgie der Entwertung unseres menschlichen Lebens und Daseins zu wehren, haben sich einige tausende Menschen aus Italien und aus anderen Ländern entschlossen, einem europäischen Aufruf der Gegner aus Milan zu folgen und ihre Stimmen und Taten zu vereinigen in einem „Es Reicht!“. Es reicht mit der Ausbeutung! So ist zu einer Gegenversammlung mit Namen NO EXPO am Tag der Eröffnung eingeladen worden, die von der Arbeiterbewegung im Rahmen der Demonstrationen zum 1. Mai unterstützt wurde. Wie so oft bei solchen Versammlungen kommen unterschiedliche Meinungen und Haltungen zusammen und es entsteht eine vielfältige gesellschaftliche Gegenbewegung.
Schön und gut, aber was hatten die 5 Athener dort zu suchen ?
Die 5 Angeklagten sind Studenten, die sich an der griechischen studentischen Bewegung engagieren, an Kiezversammlungen teilnehmen und Arbeits- und Klassenkämpfe, die in den letzten Jahren im Lande ausbrechen, aktiv unterstützen.
Kurz gesagt, sie sind einige aus den Tausenden, die für ihre Würde und für soziale Solidarität kämpfen. Sie sind ein kleiner Teil aus der grossen Menge der Menschen die entweder organisisert oder gelegentlich gegen die Ausbeutung und Unterbewerbung ihres Lebens, gegen die tägliche Gewalt der Macht widerstehen. Gegen die Gewalt, die sogar als roher Mord in Form von Arbeiterunfälle oder kaltblütigen Hinrichtungen in Griechenland, Argentinien, Tunesien, Ägypten, Bosnien, der Türkei und Mexico, Brazil und anderswo aufkommt.
Während ihrer Reise in Italien nahmen die 5 politisch engagierten Studenten an der ersten Mai -Demo teil. Am 2/5/2015, einen Tag nach der Demo, und mit einzigem Vorwand, dass sie aus einem besetzten sozialen Zentrum herauskamen, wurden sie von der italienischen Polizei im Kontext massiver Vorführungen vorgeführt. Nach ihrer mehrstündigen
Gefangenschaft, ohne die Anwesenheit eines Dolmetschers und nach der gewaltätigen Fingerabdruck- und DNA – Entnahme, wurden die 5 ohne Anklagen freigelassen.
Wenn die Unterschicht aufwacht, zittern die Oberen
Bei Bewegungen “von Unten” bleiben die staatlichen Apparate selbstverständlich nicht apathisch, sondern erstarken sie sich auf vielen Ebenen dagegen. Auf der einen Seite greift der Staat die Arbeiterrechte und Alles , was ein würdiges Leben sicherstellen kann, an. Damit steigern der Terror und die Ausbeutunġ der Raum für Widerstand wird also eingeschränkt. Mit wenigen Worten: wir sollen verpflichtet werden unser Leben mit gebeugtem Haupt zu verbringen, bettelnd um Brotkrümel für die wir noch Danke sagen, damit dann auch keine Zeit, Kraft und Energie bleibt um Widerstand aufkommen zu lassen.
Natürlich organisisert sich der Staat auf der anderen Seite im Teil der Polizeigewalt und Unterdrückung, sodass die nationale Polizei mehr als die Armee in ihrer Taktik und Bewaffung wirkt. Dies ist die Verbindung zwischen dem Mord von Alexis Grigoropoulos, den Bestialitäten der Bullen bei Generalstreiks und anderen Demonstrationen, den Morden in den Slums in Brasilien, dem amerikanischen Getto und den französischen Vororten,
dem Mord von Julianni in Genova in 2001 und natürlichen den Morden vom Emigranten im Mittelmeer, die als Schiffbrüche benannt werden. Genau das zeigt was das Leben der Unterdruckten für die Macht bedeutet. Die Hemmung wird noch vom System gerichtlich organisisert. Und außerdem wurde das Europäische Haftbefehl, das die Auslieferung der 5 Studenten nach Italien verlangt, durch den Terrorgesetz (Τρομονόμο – 2004) vom griechischen Recht bestätigt.
Die Auslieferung nach Italien bedeutet, dass die 5 Studenten ganz isoliert, häftig finanziell belastet werden und ihre Verteidigung wegen der fremden Sprache und des fremden Rechts erschwert wird. Die europäische hemmende Integration möchte uns alle Kämpfende, alle an Streiks und anderen dynamischen Bewegungen Teilnehmer, hinter den
Gittern sehen. Es wird klar, dass die einige Anklage gegen die 5 Studenten folgende
ist: dass sie ihre Stimme mit denen von tausenden anderen Menschen in Milan vereinigten, dass sie sich gegen das Schicksal widersetzen, das ihnen die Mächtigen dieser Welt vorbereiten.
Es wird aber auch klar, dass wir uns solidär mit kämpfenden Menschen
erweisen und darüber kann nicht verhandelt werden.

El jueves 12 de noviembre, día de huelga general en Grecia, la Policía en presencia del fiscal irrumpió en las casas de cinco estudiantes, residentes del municipio Agia Paraskevi de Atenas, deteniéndoles tras la emisión de una orden de detención en Italia y de una orden europea de detención y entrega. El mismo día la Policía italiana detuvo en Milán a otras cinco personas bajo las mismas acusasiones.Con la única acusación clara siendo su participación en la manifestación contra la Expo, realizada el 1 de mayo de 2015 en Milán, se solicita a las autoridades judiciales griegas e implícitamente al gobierno griego, de extraditar a los cinco jóvenes a Italia, donde serán juzgados, sin que, hasta el momento, el Consejo de Jueces que decidirá sobre la extradición o no, siquiera disponga del expediente completo del caso. La única prueba “concedida” por las autoridades italianas es una acusación generalizada de acuerdo con que los 5 “fueron vistos participando en los disturbios”, sin especificación ninguna respecto a quién les vio ni qué exactamente hacían. Esto se deja a la discreción y voluntad política de los jueces para decidir si constituyen pruebas necesarias para culpar a alguien o no.
No EXPO – Como si decimos “¡Basta!”
Pero, ¿qué fue la manifestación en la que participaron los cinco estudiantes?
En 2015, la Feria Mundial Expo se celebró en Milán. Las Expo son exposiciones mundiales organizadas a intervalos regulares, cada vez en una ciudad diferente, con el objetivo de presentar y publicitar los productos de la industria y el capitalismo, como también planear todo tipo de acuerdos comerciales. En pocas palabras es otra de aquellas fiestas capitalistas (llámense Juegos Olímpicos, Copa del Mundo, Bienal etc.), durante la cual el champán fluye abundante, servido por unos serviles y no remunerados voluntarios, entre bromitas, abrigos de pieles y joyas, mientras que las nuevas condiciones de explotación de los de abajo se sellan firmadas con plumas de oro por la elite internacional capitalista. Y, obviamente, para montar toda esta celebración, no faltaron sobornos a los mafiosos y grandes contratistas, diferentes escándalos financieros y los agujeros negros en el presupuesto, todo acompañado por pésimas condiciones de, a menudo gratuito, trabajo antes y durante la exposición, las expulsiones de los habitantes de barrios pobres, las medidas de seguridad especiales, etc. ¡Vamos a dar la bienvenida a tanta gente! ¡No dejemos que la miseria y la explotación cotidiana nos estropeen nuestro festejo!
Y no hay que olvidar que toda esta fiesta lujosa que costó algunos millones de euro, tuvo lugar en nuestra vecina Italia ¡al mismo tiempo que el gobierno italiano está votando medidas de austeridad y pide a los pobres “apretar más el cinturón”!
Y si todo esto se parece a Grecia (Juegos Olímpicos, crisis, memorándum) no resulta para nada casual, esto es el capitalismo global …
Frente a esta fiesta de desprecio por nuestras vidas, algunas miles de personas venidas de toda Italia y otros países habían decidido responder al llamamiento a nivel europeo sacado por los luchadores de Milán, y así unir sus voces y sus prácticas en un grito colectivo “¡Ya Basta!”, ¡Basta con la explotación!” El día de la inauguración de la Expo fue convocada una concentración llamada “No Expo”, donde en el marco de la manifestación del 1 de mayo participaron todos los movimientos políticos y organizaciones obreras. Como siempre ocurre en tales manifestaciones, diferentes lógicas y prácticas coexisten formando un movimiento de resistencia social multiforme.
Bueno, pero¿ qué hacían allí los cinco vecinos de Agia Paraskevi?
Los cinco estudiantes acusados participan en el movimiento estudiantil griego, son activos en las asambleas de barrios y habían participado en algunas de las muchas luchas obreras y de clase que estallaron en el país en los últimos años. En pocas palabras, son unos de aquellas miles de personas que salieron a las calles en los últimos años para luchar por su dignidad y por la solidaridad social. Una gota en el océano de millones de personas que resisten, sea de manera organizada o no, a la explotación y la devaluación de nuestras vidas, resisten a la violencia cotidiana del Poder, que llega hasta el asesinato brutal (ya sea como accidentes laborales o ejecuciones a sangre fría cometidas por policías) en Grecia, Argentina, Túnez, Egipto, Bosnia, Turquía, México, Brasil y otras partes.
Durante su estancia en Italia, era algo natural para los cinco estudiantes políticamente activos participar en la manifestación convocada en contra de los planes de los poderosos. Al día siguiente, en el marco de unas retenciones masivas, los 5 resultan arrestados en una cafetería justo después de haber salido de un centro social ocupado. A continuación se les tomó violentamente huellas dactilares y material genético (ADN), sin presencia de un intérprete. Después de varias horas de retención, se les deja libres sin más explicaciones.
Y mientras los de abajo despiertan, los poderosos están temblando
Frente a la resistencia generalizada de los de abajo, los mecanismos de gobierno, obviamente, no permanecen impasibles, sino se protegen en todos los niveles. Por un lado están atacando todavía más a los derechos laborales y todo lo que puede proporcionarnos una vida digna, con el objetivo de intensificar la explotación y el miedo, y por lo tanto reducir a los márgenes de resistencia que aún tenemos. En resumen, para obligarnos a pasarnos la vida con la cabeza agachada, mendigando por migajas y dando las gracias, sin tener el tiempo, la fuerza y el ánimo para organizar nuestra resistencia.
Por supuesto, se organizan también al nivel de violencia policial y represión, con los cuerpos policiales de cada país más y más parecidos a unos ejércitos, tanto en sus tácticas como en su armamento. Se trata de este mismo hilo que conecta el asesinato de Grigoropoulos, las atrocidades cometidas por los antidisturbios, la brigada Delta y los demás policías en huelgas generales y otros lugares, con los asesinatos en las favelas brasileñas, los guetos estadounidenses y los suburbios franceses, el asesinato de Giuliani en Génova en 2001 y, por supuesto, los asesinatos de migrantes en el Mediterráneo y en otros lugares, a los que ellos llaman “naufragios”. Es la misma señal de advertencia intermitente que cuelga sobre las cabezas de los condenados de la tierra, diciendo: “¡Seguid sentados tranquilamente, porque para nosotros vuestras vidas no tienen valor ninguno!”
Por último, el sistema organiza la represión también a nivel judicial. Además, la orden de detención europea en virtud del cual Italia pide la extradición de los 5 luchadores estudiantes ha sido ratificada en la legislación griega por la llamada “segunda ley antiterrorista” de año 2004. El marco mismo de las leyes antiterroristas es el que viola a los derechos humanos más básicos, como por ejemplo el hecho que en Italia no existe un límite fijo de prisión preventiva. En resumen, si los cinco estudiantes fuesen extraditados, es posible que pasarán incluso cinco años encerrados en las cárceles italianas lejos de los suyos, sólo y únicamente para luego ser absueltos en el juicio, ya que esto es lo más probable si consideramos la falta de pruebas concernientes los cargos que se les acusa. Además, la extradición a Italia significaría su aislamiento completo, su aniquilación económica como también la incapacidad de la defensa propia (otro idioma, otra ley). La integración europea construye todo un Guantánamo generalizado y les encantaría ver allí dentro, en la cárcel, a todas y todos nosotros que desde años participamos en huelgas y otras protestas dinámicas en el centro de Atenas.
Está claro que la única acusación que pesa sobre los 5 estudiantes, es el hecho que habían unido sus voces a los de miles de otros en Milán y en otras partes, ¡el hecho que habían decidido resistir al destino que nos reservan los poderosos de este mundo!
¡Pero es igualmente claro que nuestra solidaridad con las personas que luchan es algo innegociable!
No a la extradición de los cinco luchadores estudiantes de Agia Paraskevi.
Fin a cualquier persecución legal.
